It's no secret that I have been wishing for a change in season...I've been reading Anton Chekhov's "The Darling and Other Stories", longing for a fairytale or folktale existence in the country somewhere, in the middle of an enchanted forest with the scent of fresh pine trees mingling with the crisp mountain air. Ever the romantic, I embarked on a quest for fairytale worthy garments that will allow my fantasies to somehow be realized. I came across this beautiful mustard colored wool L'Aiglon dress with the most adorable white crochet trim collar and oversize buttons, and I just knew it was meant for me.The price was right, too. I don't have a ton of mustard colored things in my wardrobe, but I am looking forward to creating different looks with this dress...
Comrade Von Pussycat
My name is Catherine aka Comrade Von Pussycat, this blog is a cheeky homage to all of the Bond girls I grew up watching on screen and aspiring to be like. I am a California girl who fell in love, and married a Macedonian boy. We have a cat named Samson who we rescued from the snowy winter streets and who now repays me by humping my leg incessantly...such a creep! Oh, and I also happen to love the 1940's and 1950's, so stay tuned if you love vintage too!
what a pretty dress.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely dress. I'd love to know the history of the lady that had this dress. I've seen L'Aiglon ads in Vogue magazines. If I ever come across another, I'll be sure to send it to you. It looks like it is a very quality made dress. The belt also looks in great condition, which we know is rare for vintage dresses. Congratulations on a lovely find!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanna! I would love to see some of the vintage ads by L'Aiglon! Actually, the dress still has the original tags attached, so I am thinking it might have been deadstock? Do you own any L'Aiglon garments? I really love the details of the dress, I can't wait to collect more L'Aiglon :)
