As previously mentioned, I currently live in the Balkans and I have been trying to get my paws on a bottle of setting lotion, but that seems to be nonexistent in this part of the world. Along with slips. I had to scour the entire city for a slip to wear under my summer dresses so that my unmentionables will not be visible to the public. I got so many strange looks when I asked about the slip. "A slip? No one wears those anymore", one salesgirl smugly replied. So am I the only person in the entire city who is reluctant to show off my undergarments? Methinks not. It cannot be true! Anyways, back to the story. I couldn't find setting lotion, so I found a wonderful recipe for homemade setting lotion. All you do is boil a few spoonfuls of flaxseeds in a cup of water, and voila! I have yet to try it out on a whole head of hair, but I did a test run on one curl, and it turned out amazingly light and fluffy and not crunchy at all. I think I will buy a bottle of almond oil and add a few drops to enhance the scent. I love homemade things. *le sigh*.
That is it for now, I'll be back soon :)
My name is Catherine aka Comrade Von Pussycat, this blog is a cheeky homage to all of the Bond girls I grew up watching on screen and aspiring to be like. I am a California girl who fell in love, and married a Macedonian boy. We have a cat named Samson who we rescued from the snowy winter streets and who now repays me by humping my leg incessantly...such a creep! Oh, and I also happen to love the 1940's and 1950's, so stay tuned if you love vintage too!

I am totally with you on the slip thing... why wouldn't people wear them?!? ;)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I mean, I know I'm shy, but I thought it was normal not to want to show everything to the entire world :P
