American Classics: The All-American Hamburger!

Are you swimsuit ready? I adore these vintage weight gain ads, they are the complete opposite of what society tells us to do today. After a serious bout with being severely underweight back in 2011, I have been terrified of going back to that skeletal figure. I am no longer fearful of overeating, I even prefer to have a few extra lbs. of flesh instead of feeling like I am lacking in the curves department and I often eat more rather than less. I am no longer plagued by the idea of fat and jiggle because it is no longer unsightly to me...
I will write more about all of that at a later date, but for now,  let's defy modern society's standards and go out, buy,  bite into, and (gasp!) enjoy, a real American hamburger! Guilt free! Because life is too short not to.

  1. I love me a good hamburger!I especially love charbroiled hamburgers during summer.
I hate how guilty we are made to feel about eating. It's like society wants us to be an impossible image. I've come to a point in my life that where I want to feel and look good for me and my hubby.

    1. Ah, charbroiled burgers are the best, aren't they? I have been living in Macedonia, where they make their burgers from pork. I miss the 100% beef patties that we have in America, and all of the things you put on it: avocado, grilled pineapple, grilled onions...I love the variety of burgers we have! I love how the vintage community champions voluptuousness, and ever since I started wearing vintage clothing I have started to feel more accepting of all the "flaws" (shapely thighs, a soft tummy, short legs)that modern society looks at. As long as you feel beautiful, nothing else matters!

    2. Another nice thing about vintage fashion is that you can draw the attention from certain body parts and it can be very flattering on everyone.

Oh I love avocados. Too bad I'm slightly allergic but that hasn't stopped me from eating them.
